Chasing Waterfalls

The Gear

Sony 24-105 F4

This lens is a great overall lens for landscape work as it covers a very useful focal range, is quite light and provides good sharpness through the entire focal range.  No need to carry a heavier 24-70 2.8, as it provides less flexibility in the zoom range and I'm usually shooting at higher f-stops to increase the depth of field.

Freewell Variable ND

I was more than pleasantly surprised with this variable ND filters.  These filters have no noticeable color cast, have minimal vignette, and do not suffer from that X cross pattern that most variable ND have present.  One of my favorite features is that the filters come with a magnetic cap that attaches to the front of the filter when on the lens for protection.

I hope you enjoyed my gallery as much as I enjoyed creating these images.  One of my favorite things about shooting waterfalls is that there is usually a fun hike involved.  There is also the precarious challenge of balancing a tripod in running water and praying that your gear does not take a dip.
